Timberlake Team – Q&A

June 2021

Each phase of the Design/Build process is exciting! From start to finish, we blend team member’s expertise along with customers’ needs and tastes to get the work done. As with everything, there’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to keep things run smoothly.

In this Blog, we’re introducing you our Accounting Department who contribute to our success. Martha Rutherford and Christy Sinclair work hard to ensure that our payables and receivables are handled accurately. They’re serious about “checks and balances” – and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

1. Before working at Timberlake, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve had?

Martha: I was in public accounting for 30+ years, which is a fast-paced, constant deadline environment. I learned firsthand about a variety of industries/types of business and meet many interesting people from all walks of life, including other countries.
Christy: I worked at Car Crafters body shop. I always found it surprising when a vehicle would come into the shop smashed up and then leave the shop like it never happened. I always enjoyed watching them fix a vehicle and see the kind of craftsmanship these guys had.

2. What do you like most about your job?

Martha: The best thing is the people and the relaxed work environment. We have a great team and the synergy is palpable.
Christy: I like to put together the draws for the customers because it lets me see what each job is doing and really get to know the building process.

3. What’s your favorite quote, personal motto, or line from a movie?

Martha: “Work hard, play hard”
Christy: “Don’t cry over spilled milk.”

4. Three words to best describe you are:

Martha: Meticulous, generous, honest
Christy: Funny, kind, optimistic

5. Favorite place(s) to go in the area:

Martha: Hiking trails
Christy: Walking at Meek’s Park
